More Rants and Raves

Why are soooo many ppl just completely oblivious to anyone but themselves?
This is now common place in New York.
When getting of the train, why are the people that are trying to get on always pushing their way in even before you have a chance to leave the train. Do they think that the train will leave without them? Are they afraid that someone is going to "take their spot" in the train? What, what is it? Or the elevator for that matter. Can you please just wait til I exit before you push your fat ass in?
When did holding the door open for someone become a no no? You see that I am right behind you holding a gazillion things in my hands, yet you have no problem letting the door slam right in my face? Why, do you think that extra second will make you so late or kill you? What, what is the problem?
I think the real problem is the "ME, ME, ME" attitude of Americans. They teach you since you are a little kid to think of yourself, self-esteem. You can't count on anyone but yourself. So that's what Americans have done. And this is the end product of our teaching. A bunch of self-centered, stupid Americans!!!

Sucks!

i have to add on to that rant!!
how about when you do make the effort and hold the door for someone (maybe even waiting a little longer) and they don't say thanks or even look at you to acknowlegde you. they just pass by as if they're royalty and your the doorman. They're more like royal a**es!!!

When I was a young girl I remember that men used to hold a door for a lady, stand up when a lady left the table, tip his hat and even take his hat off when coming indoors. I also remember when it all started to change...in the late 70's and early 80's when the womens lib movement really started taking hold. When it first started women really took it overboard by actually berating any chivalrous action from men.

As stated in my next blog, Denver still has some concept of manners left. What a great city.
So chivalry is not completely dead everywhere. :)
